Is there a maximum amount for save games on Stardew Valley mobile?

Hello,

I'm planning on playing Stardew Valley on my iPad again this week and would like to create some more farms on my iPad because I only have one so far and would like to create some more farms for multiplayer. Now I wanted to ask whether there is a limit or a maximum number of farms or save files that you can create in Stardew Valley or not. For example, I read on Reddit that there is a limit of 30 farms or on GameFAQs that there is a limit of 5 farms in Stardew Valley.
I wanted to ask: Is there a set maximum number of save files in Stardew Valley? Or can I create an unlimited amount of save files in Stardew Valley?

Best regards,
Atten007 😊

I've never seen a limit mentioned for any version and I have about 15 saves on my PC/Mac so it seems that at least 2 dozen are reasonable. I'm sure there are people here with more than that and each save folder is very small, so if it's limited by storage space then it's effectively limitless.

As far as I know, for the loading process, the game reads each valid subfolder in your save game directory. It also creates a new subfolder (i.e. a new save) there, as long as there is available space.

Thus as long as there is free space on your device, you can create a new save.

However, one has to be realistic with a possible limitation: if there are too many save files to load, performance could be impacted on the loading screen.

I've just recently had upwards of 30 saves for a single challenge I'm currently doing (there are ways of moving files within the game that allow for some pretty crazy stuff which I'll make a post about when the run is one), and it didn't impact anything.

Base files without much progress are also pretty insignificant storage-wise, and even if you have 20-30 files all taking 10-20mb (which is still considerable progress on a SDV save, I have year 15 files that are only 30mb), it's still barely anything.
