Is the return scepter worth it?

I agree with this point to an extent, but in all honesty, if you're able to afford a 2,000,000g sceptre, then the 1,000g penalty for falling asleep outdoors isn't going to hurt you in the slightest.

The real value of the sceptre imo is not in the last minute dash for bed, but in the instant travel back to the farm in the middle of the day, to make a faster start on doing something new after completing a different task
A good idea/interesting point! I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the feedback! :)

Return scepter is more valuable than obelisks, at least at first. It can service you, functioning from every area. Unless you bother to employee many Farm-Totems, this is a first rate investment. With it, you waste time only to get to your destination and then, you can safely forget about, the return trip. Was my very first heavy purchase, a long time before building the obelisks; i never regret it and i use it, all the time.

I use it a lot, even when I'm just feeling too lazy to walk back to the farm properly. I know you can get farm warm totems sooner, but I always prefer infinite use items over stacks of items that can be used up. And money is a simple thing to grind for, so I find that easier than collecting the ingredients to craft my own.
Most people buy their farm totems at the casino, just takes some qi coins and betting at the slots for a bit.

And I find it takes something like 70+ hours to use a single stack of the farm totems (and I use them a lot) so them being single use pretty much doesn’t matter.

In this way the sceptre is no different to a warp totem, a misclick with either will have the same effect.

Don't have either in the active row of inventory. Stash them out of the way at the bottom of your backpack and accidents can't happen.
Also bombs. Those are off the active bar until I'm at the mine entrance.

I've carefully cultivated a habit of keeping my 'active' inventory slot on the hoe when not using something. Doesn't dislodge anything if you click accidentally. I originally used an empty space but then Kent sent me a megabomb which popped into said empty space and was then subsequently unintentionally placed when clicking out of the mailbox...

Exit. Restart day. No empty hand when collecting mail.

Yeah, it's more of a mental problem for me than a practical one, with items that can be used up. I never start using potions until I have an excessive quantity of them.

Oh, that's clever. I generally have the scythe, leftover from when I was worried about using up all my energy.

Also. Kent and his bomb presents. Love ya, buddy, but actually please stop sending live ordinance in the mail.

I love the thing. Stuck in the house with your wife in the doorway? SWOOSH! Just emptied your auto grabber and the pig won't clear the door? SWOOSH! Just kegged the last bushel of Ancient Fruit and it hits 1:50? SWOOSH! You just finished the cut scene from Pierre's Prime Produce and want to make a dramatic exit? SWOOSH!
