Having in my first SDV playthrough traded in both items nearest your head to the Museum before using them for their (hidden from the new user, dagnabbit!

) actual primary use, I'm right there with you.

Ereo is right, spend a bit of time in Skull Cavern on Lucky days with some Luck buffs (they help with general things but not getting the actual items) and just skip through floors with Stairs until you find a Prehistoric Floor. Then hack away and enjoy some Dino barbecue when the day's over. You'll eventually get the drop you need.

The best part about Dino barbecue is when you get two of them facing each other so that they breath fire on one another in some instinctual battle for dominance, and basically BBQ themselves as you kill them. Talk about an efficient and environmentally friendly way to cook your dino meat ;)
