Is stardew mobile going to update their multiplayer more soon?

Lately I've been wanting to play with my long distance friends but I don't have access to a computer to actually play with them, as we've noticed already multiplayer on mobile can only be through a local network (but if im mistaken please do inform me) and I've just been wondering about when they'll be able to further update it or not
I just want to know if I should even be holding my breath for something

No, it was a super backburner addition that seemed to be released half-baked either accidentally or because the team was actively not going to work on it anytime soon becasue of more pressing changes to be addressed, etc.

There are workarounds but they require some work on your own part in setting up some sort of proxy server, browse similar threads on here and you'll find a couple people who made it work

I just want confirmation, is it actually possible to play with a pc user on mobile? Also thank you for responding

No it is not possible. I have a friend that lives all the way across the us and we tried me playing on computer and them playing on the switch but we were unable to so we just used nintendo switches. Do you and the other player have one? If yes then you can play together. If no, then you can't play together.

Yep totally is, mobile and pc are basically exactly the same except for some gui changes as some mobile exclusive features but those are more additions than big functional changes to the framework of the game itself.

That's between PC and a console which yeah, doesn't work due to console manufacturers being rather restrictive and even requiring the game be functionally different in some regards like RNG for some reason (nintendo), PC and the far less restrictive mobile can in fact play together
