Is international multiplayer possible?

I hope someone here knows the answer to this one.

My boyfriend is Japanese and I’m American. We’re trying to find games that we can play together while visa statuses keep us apart, and he enjoyed SV while we were together a few weeks ago. Before he buys the game, I’m hoping someone knows if our versions will be compatible.

Unfortunately, we haven’t had success with another game we both love, so I’m double checking this time. Thanks in advance for any help

Absolutely. Everyone just needs to be playing at the same time, and while coordination across timezones can be a pain in the rump, if someone is playing in the morning in the US, they could absolutely play with someone in the UK playing in the evening (and all other variations, that was just an example).

Should be fine, although you might get a little lag/longer loading times due to the distance.
