Locusts. That's what Stardew Valley needs. A plague of locusts!

And then you could fish with them. :P

Anybody have ideas for interesting natural disasters? They could make for interesting events!

Hmmm locusts, you say? Well, when I think of locusts:

ran out of gas
got a flat tire
no change for cab fare
lost my tux at the cleaners
locked my keys in the car
old friend came in from out of town
someone stole my car
earthquake
terrible flood
locusts


All good options.

It would be cool to have some more random events, similar to the earthquake (though I understand that is an homage to harvest moon and it unlocks a permanent feature)

Ooh, that's a good one! Plenty of interesting stuff that could come from that--especially if you sold out to Joja and your friend is like, "Uh, I thought you HATED Joja?"
