In-game time

Hello,
I'm starting a few days ago with stardew valley, and i love it so much. Only one thing I don't like very much. For me is the in game time really really to fast. I don't can make everything at the day what I want to do. Do you know if there will be came a update with this feature. I'm playing it on the switch.

Kind Regards

Marcel

I play on Switch too, and the in-game time is just part of the game. It's all about time management and deciding exactly what you want to do in a day. Honestly, for me, this part of the game is really fun because in a lot of similar games you don't feel like you have to do things quickly or anything like that. You can just stay up infinitely. So no, there probably will not be an update that changes in-game time. I hope this answers your question.

I know it seems that way now, but that is part of the game, this isn't Animal Crossing. Time Management is a huge part of this game.

Eventually as you upgrade items, expand your foods, you may even find you have TOO MUCH time. Often late game I'll find I have a few hours before bed in which to do nothing (don't go to bed, ruins timing of machines) and just do silly things like stockpile trash from fishing, or clearcut the forest using nothing but bombs.

Same here lol. I was thinking the exact same thing.

Some tips:

1- get a stable ASAP. Travel time is the worst waste of time.

2 - upgrade tools. Saves time and energy while doing things.

3 - Coffee is God. Plant coffee beans and stockpile coffee beans. Once you can make/buy coffee (and later a better recipe) the constant speed boosts help.

4 - Spicy Eel is God 2.0. Befriend George and get the recipe, stockpile eels (Fish Ponds) and Hot Peppers for when you have a kitchen.

5 - Unlock minecarts. Fast travel to a select few locations.

6 - Build totems when they unlock.

Another option for getting spicy eels is trading rubies to the desert trader. I mine a lot more than I fish, so that's how I get mine.

That
Yes, but that is hard to manage in early game where they are most likely to have problems.

It costs 42.5K to unlock and then 2 rubies every day to maintain constant eels.
That's true, I just thought it was worth mentioning because eels are very difficult to catch and reproduce.

This is true. Though you really only need to catch 1 if you have the resources.

You need:
1 eel
30,000 gold
1200 stone
30 seaweed
30 green algae

Build 1 Fish pond and put the eel in. In 3 days it will produce a 2nd eel.

Build another fish pond, fish out extra eel and add to new pond. In 3 days they will produce 2 more eels.

Build 2 fish ponds, stock w/ 2 extra eels. 3 more days, 4 more eels.

Build 2 more ponds, stock w/ 2 eels.

Now they will produce 6 eels every 3 days, and you need 2 per day for your spicy eels (except on skull cavern days).

Ultimately it is cheaper than the rubies until you get crystalariums.

Once again, that is true. I just prefer the first one because I usually put lava eels in my ponds. But it's not that much cheaper either. So, I guess it is a matter of preference.

Another thing you have to take into consideration is the materials you have to give the eels to increase population size. This diagram shows the amount of fish on the left and the possible gifting requirements for the eels on the left.
3 eels3 Driftwood, 1 Frozen Geode, or 1-2 Seaweed3 days
5 eels2 Clam or 2 Coral
7 eels2 Aquamarine, 1 Mussel, or 2 Sea Urchin

You don't need that.

You only need to increase population size if you care about the items they are producing.

Eels produce nothing useful except more eels, you only need 1 eel in a pond to produce them.

This is why we want 6 ponds with 1 eel each.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Doesn't the population have to be increased at least once to duplicate fish in the pond? If I'm not mistaken you have to give them something to increase the population.

Nope. You only need to give gifts if you want to expand beyond the limit. For eels the limit is 3. Since we'll be fishing out the new eel every time it is produced we will only hit 2 max.

I apologize, since I only do Lava Eels I forgot that usually, the initial population is 3. With rarer fish like the lava eel, the population limit starts at 1.

5 - Unlock minecarts. Fast travel to a select few locations.
Warp travel! Instant travel! And unlockable for a mere human (casual player) before Y1 Summer! (According to my notes, I am usually trying to repair the Boiler Room at the Community Center to unlock the mine carts in the last week of Y1 Spring or first week of Y1 Summer.)
