I'm having trouble getting to floor 100 to meet Mr Qi

I always struggle with the Skull Cavern, even when I get a Prismatic Shard to trade for the Galaxy Sword

I want to meet Mr Qi, but I struggle. I'll get Desert Totems at the Desert Trader so I can get to the Skull Cavern early, but it doesn't seem to help. I get Spicy Eels, Coffee, etc. I'll pick up Quartz and the like to trade for bombs, craft bombs myself, buy bombs from the Dwarf if I need to. Seems like I can only get to floor 45-50 until I pass out from a monster, pass out because it's 2 am, or I'm able to leave before it's 2 am.

You can do it without stairs on a Lucky day (plus Luck buffs if you have them) and loads of Bombs, like 200+, but the easy way is with ~100 Stairs.

And I've never done it the Bombs way because Stairs is just too good. I find it very easy to ignore Mr. Qi's snarky Staircase comments as all his little tasks are just toying with the Farmer for his amusement. I will not give him that satisfaction and show that Ms. Farmer is at least his equal when it comes to his silly puzzles.

If you want to do it without using too many stairs, go on a lucky day after having picked up the special charm, and boost your luck with magic rock candy. Use lucky lunch once it wears off. 5 or 3 extra luck is a lot better than just 1 extra luck. Keep life elixirs or some non-boosting food on hand to heal, because you'll need it if you find enough shafts.

If you've got access to the mastery cave, luck blessing from the Statue of Blessings, and an "easier to find stairs and shafts" blessing from the Statue of the Dwarf King can help a lot too. If you have a lucky ring, you should wear it too.

In one save I managed to reach floor 100 without using even one staircase thanks to finding enough shafts on a lucky day and boosting my luck enough. And did it with enough time to spare to go a few floors further down before having to use a farm totem.

SOOOO many bombs, about 50 stairs (some will not be used), lots of coffee, and it helps to have a second person with you to tell you to drink another cup of coffee when the buff wears off, eat food when energy/health is low, and tell you when it's far too late to continue. I would also recommend high quality goat cheese as a good food.

The extra person helping watch for things on the screen is actually a really useful strategy, if you can find someone who is willing to help out. I think a lot of us who were younger siblings can remember having that role, and being extra proud when we actually did something useful.

I always thought of myself as the man in the chair: I did the planning, they did the playing. That advice does come from being the younger sibling and being that second person :P
