If i give Vanilla npc an item from Ridgeside Village, it won't respond to loved gift

If i give Vanilla npc an item from Ridgeside Village,
it won't respond to loved gift even if it says it's a loved gift on the wiki page.Why is this happening?

+I didn't see any abnormalities in the smapi log
