Exactly! And that sounds amazing. More info on who will be the two marriage candidates should be revealed on February the 26th, for the 10 years of Stardew Valley release.
Also, ConcernedApe is evaluating if the new farm could be in fact a farm editor where players could create their own farm. Nothing confirmed yet, but looks promising.
When guessing who the new bachelor/bachelorettes will be, first we need to ask if those will be new NPCs or if they are existing villagers that would turn to marriage candidates.
In the same interview, ConcernedApe said that the villagers and their individual story are a big part of SDV success. Therefore, it is not easy to modify them without risking to displease players, unless this is to add more dialogs or lore. Thus, I think that the new marriage candidates would be existing villagers, which leads to the following list:
- Leo/Jas/Vincent: not possible as they are children
- Linus: extremely unlikely as he does want to leave his current life style
- Evelyn/George: I doubt that retired and old people would look like appealing candidates, especially with all the side effect of possibly letting a disable old man alone in his home...
- Pierre/Caroline/Jodi/Kent/Robin/Demetrius: introducing the breaking of other seemingly happy marriages would be a weird move for a game with such a positive ambiance
- Lewis: that would raise interesting questions, especially regarding a certain gold statue
- Marnie: an interesting idea that would lead to a monopoly in animal raising in the valley
- Marlon: so Gil will finally have to show his skills
- Sandy: would be interesting but... who would take care of her shop?
- Clint/Willy/Gus: a regular player request, but what consequence on his blacksmith/fish shop/saloon?
- Pam: raises questions about more chores for the player at the farm and relation with Penny as daughter-in law
- Wizard: a regular player request with almost endless possibilities...
Am I to pick two amongst those (one female and one male to keep the choices balanced):
- Sandy (if we accept that she won't be present at the Flower Dance Festival until the bus is repaired)
- Clint (so we can finally witness him be happy and gain self confidence)
