I lost half of my money, and I didn't buy anything

I play alone and I had like 11,500 gold, i was saving up cause I want to upgrade my house. I sold a coral and a clam with gold stars to the fisherman, then all of a sudden while I was buying some bait for my crab catcher thingy, and I only bought 2, half of my money, GONE!! I tried looking if I accidentally bought something but I didnt, because theres no item in that shop that goes for 7000 gold and nothing came to my inventory. I searched up and they said I might lose money for selling something for cheaper than when I put it in the box, Is that real? cuz rn I really have no explanation and Im devastated 7000 gold is another 8 days of work and my summer is almost done so most of my crops will die out!!

I didnt have the pole though, at that time I didnt focus on fishing but farming so the only bait I buy is for the crab cage. So I didnt have an option for any other fishing rods but the bamboo one. I was so devastated I created a new load lmao
