I have a 100 hardwood, should I buy the house upgrade or upgrade the giant stump?

Title, which is better option? I’m on the 2nd house upgrade with the nursery, should I do that or fix the giant stump

Giant stump is something that'll take a while to get fully completed (once you upgrade it, but no spoilers), so you may consider doing that first to get a head start on it.

Second house upgrade really doesn't do a whole lot unless you really really want to have children in which case it's a requirement

Well I’d do the house first then. If collecting hardwood is har, as in early game, then you might wish to use any mahogany seeds you’ve collected to grow your own. If you have the tree fertilizer recipe it can help them grow more quickly. Cutting these down once fully grown can also help you get more mahogany seeds and in a season or so you’ll have a fairly steady supply for the raccoon tree stump, boat to ginger island, many of the artisan machines, etc.
