How to crack the stones?

I have a problem, finding the right place to post is one problem.
I wonder if someone knows how to crack the stones, since Clint doesn't help on this. So whst am I missing?
I'm on android. Does this mean I can't crack open the shards I have.
Please, help me instead of ripping my post from the boards.

By shards, do you mean prismatic shards? They can't be cracked open, just used as they are in the forge on Ginger Island, or the mini forge you can craft after claiming the right mastery. They are more like gems than geodes.

What Mod are you using because you cannot crack open any of the game's shards in the native, unmodded game. The things Clint can crack open in the unmodded game are:

any Geodes
both Mystery Boxes
Artifact Trove
Golden Coconut

Cinder shards do not say they need to be cracked open, their description is:

Have run one perfect game, some 70% towards perfecting my current game, and only played android version. Have used a bunch of cinder shards. The warmth mentioned coming from within them is because they're used as fuel at the forge.

This is the Cinder Shards that need to be cracked. I think it's with Ginger Island. The forge is where, Volcano whatever??

Those are

Cinder Shard Nodes. You've gotten those because of a game bug or a mod as they should never be in your inventory. Instead you break those with your Pickaxe when you find them in the Volcano, and they drop

Cinder Shards. Nobody can crack them open as nobody except the Farmer is supposed to even encounter them. How did you get them in your inventory?

I was rewarded them when I was leaving the pirate den so they were in my inventory after I found them on returning from fishing at the pirate haven.

Yeah that's a bug. I don't know what item ended up getting changed into those nodes but if it was a Stingray, I'd be mad! You have something unique, I'd make some Signs and put them on the Signs for display all around town!
