You don't need to access out of bounds locations to get the skeleton parts.

The content of artifact spots is random. If you don't mind restarting the day, you can open one spot until you get the snake vertebrae.

If one spawns on your farm, open it. If it doesn't contain what you need, restart the day, hoe one field and then open it. Repeat always hoeing one more field until you get the snake vertebrae.
