I was working from home, so I didn't have to worry about time and being full productive all the time, when I felt bored or I was getting stuck with something, I stop and play a little or just walking around the house seeing what's happening with my cats or the woods behind my backyard. But I think the key is that gaming/playing isn't a "vital activity" like eating, sleeping or working, so I don't think you have to find time strictly to do it. But of course it's important to not burn you out, humans need recreational activities, but it has not to be gaming, it can be reading, listening to music, going outside, etc.
If I have time to play I do it, if not then I accept it and keep going, it's not like you will lose something important. That's why I stopped playing free to play games that requires you to play basically daily, they become a second job basically. My recommendation is to not play that kind of games, the aren't healthy, that's why I started to play SV, I can play for 10 minutes or whatever, leave it for 4 or 7 months and it will stay like I left it.
In conclusion, don't make gaming a "vital activity" (unless your job is gaming itself) and don't make it part of your personality (irrational fanaticism), stay focus on what's important for you and your beloved ones.
