I'm playing the latest 1.6.14 version on Windows in English, using keyboard and in singleplayer.
I've tried expanding the house by adding new rooms, but upon choosing the type of renovation, the camera gets stuck just above house entrance (moving it with either mouse or arrow keys doesn't work), making it impossible to add anything but cubby and southern room, a small part of which is visible and clickable in the corner. I tried sleeping over and choosing different rooms, the result is the same.
