Hello. I am Kittina and I am currently living in Hungary. My fiancé introduced me to the game, I'm playing it on my iphone, I'm still getting used to the controls.
Alex was my first choice, I'm going to play with him, I'd like to get my heart rate up soon. What else do you like besides eggs? Also, any tips/advice you have for a beginner player is welcome. :)

Hi Kittina! So glad to have you here on the forums!

Some other liked gifts for Alex are Field Snacks, you can craft them from tree seeds.

My advice for a beginner is to buy the calendar item from the carpenter's shop in the mountains where Robin lives. The calendar is a great item to have in your house, to show you important dates right from your farmhouse. The calendar is 2,000g (2,000 Gold)

Welcome! This is my advice; enjoy the game and take your time to explore, talk to the villagers and collecting resources. I think this game is more fun if you go "blind" to everything and you want to just chill, no pressures. But if you want to earn gold, save almost every item you find, you can use them later in the game, if something looks special or unique, maybe it is, so be careful about what are you selling, if you want money and something to recover energy, I suggest to go around and collect plants, you can always find something interesting (for selling, crafting or just to give as a gift). And again, take your time and enjoy the path, if you have trouble in something specific you can ask here and someone will help you 😅

Welcome, kittina! I love the nb background on your profile pic. I am currently married to Alex, I'll be honest I mostly feed him eggs. I also feed him my extra Field Snacks. I make a bunch of them early game to eat for energy, and then once I unlock better food I have a lot left over, so I give them to Alex. He seems to like them.

This game is very open to many paths - do what you enjoy, and it will be a benefit no matter what. Farming, fishing, mining, talking to people, gathering items, cutting down trees, doing quests, petting chickens - everything has rewards so don't worry too much about picking the wrong thing. Finishing the bundles in the community center is a great way to start because it has you doing a bunch of different things in the process, but if you get distracted and do something else for a while that's fine too. If you're having fun then you're playing it right, and if you're stuck on something specific or have a specific goal you want to reach, ask here and we'll do our best to help out.
