Solved [HELP] Xbox Series X controller not connecting

Hey everyone!

I was trying to play the game on computer with my new Xbox Series X controller but the game can't seem to find it. I have tried it out on other games (ons steam) and it works just fine.

Does this still have to be implemented? or can I do something to fix it?

Try going into your steam controller settings for stardew valley and selecting "Enable Steam Input". If that doesn't work, then try resetting to the default gamepad controller configuration by pressing shift + tab while in game to open the steam overlay, then selecting the controller configuration from the top right, then choosing "browse configs", and then finally selecting the recommended/default config.

Load a game with your mouse + keyboard, go to settings and check if the gamepad mode is set to force off.

I'm having the same issue on a MacBook Pro with a Series X controller. Did you find a fix? I've tried both of the above suggestions.

I just followed Concerndape's instructions and that worked for me! Does it not work with other steam games as well? Or is it just with Stardew valley?

On top of that, do you have any other controllers that you can test to see if they work, see if it's exclusive to that controller?

You can try to update SDL2 to fix the controller detection, seems to work at least on macOS, don't know if it'll work on Windows or not. I wrote about it here: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/th...orks-in-steam-and-other-games.3949/post-52191
