Switch Help with crystalarium

Im playing a non-modded version of the game on my switch lite, and I just can't figure this out. I made a crystalarium and put it down, but no matter what mineral I try to use with it I can't get it to work. I even tried moving it to a different location, but it still won't work. Can anyone help out here?

Can you provide some screenshots? Which minerals did you try?

Did you try putting the mineral into the crystalarium with the correct action button?

It should begin to pulse if done correctly, and your duplicated gem will be ready to collect within anywhere from 7 hours to ~5 days, and it'll continue producing after that with no additional cost
