PlayStation [HELP] Split screen issues on ps4. Please help

Hello fellow farmers I have been trying to start a split screen with my wife and I on a farm I started. I load my game in co-op/ split screen and she turns her controller on and nothing. I go to local co-op to try to I vote her but right after I pick my farm the screen splits shows the loading screen with the controls and then the game crashes. I've seen a lot of people with this problem but nobody is answering them. I figured I'd make an account here for help as other places have been highly toxic. Thank you for your help in advance.

Unfortunately there's a lot less that can be done in terms of troubleshooting on consoles. I recommend trying as many of the steps listed here as you can, although many are PC specific: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Moddi....27t_connect_to_another_player_in_multiplayer
If a lot of people are reporting the issue, it may be the case that it's something that will need to be addressed by a future update to the game.

Thank you for answering my question. I'll try what's in the list as a start. Has anyone else had this problem?

Nothing I've tried has helped. I've watched several youtube videos of people doing the same thing. I want to play with my family but it's just not letting me
