PC [HELP] Save deletes if I crash when playing

My laptop has some issues i need to fix and is regularly crashing, i tried playing the game when it suddenly crashed, opened it again and my save file was gone, i started two new saves, played on one, crashed, and only the one i was playing on was deleted, i lost 2 years of progress, im not bitter about it but it really hurts to lose the amount of time i gave to the game

If you go to %appdata%/StardewValley/Saves, do you see the folder with your character's name on it (followed by some numbers)? If you go inside that folder, you should see a few files. Try opening up the file called <your character's name>_<some numbers> in notepad and verify that the file is not completely blank. If both the "<your character's name>_<some numbers>" file and the "<your character's name>_<some numbers>_old" files are blank, then your save is lost. If one or both are not blank, then there is probably something that can be done.

The first & easiest thing you can try to do is to use the previous day backup save. These are the files with _old at the end of them. Try renaming the files without _old at the end to something else (temporary), and then remove the _old from the end of the filenames.

Now see if your save file is back. If that doesn't work, then there might be some other ways to solve it. But please let me know if that first step solves it.

as Addendum if your save/_old save is not empty make sure you have a copy AND moved it to some "safe" place before replacing/renaming _old file
