PlayStation [HELP] PS4 version crashing when going to sleep.

I'm in Spring year 1 on the beach farm, 25% profit. Twice already I've gone to bed, the screen fades to black, stays black for about 10 seconds and then goes to the crash screen. Progress for that day is deleted. Any way I can prevent this and return to playing?

Also happening to me, PS4. Happened in new game, beach farm. Play for a few days, go to sleep, screen goes black, crashes, lose whole day progress.
Happened again in old save, standard farm, year or so in.
Never happened, even once, before update.

Mine also has never done this in the 300+ hours I played before the patch. I consider it to be a game breaking bug since I can't bring myself to play with the possibility of having to repeat days.

Me too. It’s taken a whole lot of joy out of playing, when I have no idea if the whole day could be lost.
I think it really highlights the fact the game only saves at the end of the day and the game is all about what you do in a day.

It is really disappointing to look forward to an update with new content and have something make it not fun to play any more.
This is the third of my PS4 games where this has happened.

I had this happen to me. Happened while playing multiplayer. First time it happened was Year 2, last day of Summer (which was really unfortunate since I had finally caught a sturgeon to complete my fishing bundle only for it to not save). Then it happened again during the first week of Fall also in Year 2. Prior to the 1.5 update we had not have any issues with crashing. I don’t think anyone mentioned it yet, but the error code it gives is:
CE-34878-0

We are having the same issue and have found a small fix it seems like if you only play a day or 2 at a time it will typically work fine. Then close the application and open again and you can rinse and repeat. Not ideal but better than losing lots of days... maybe something to help tide people over until they hopefully update it!

I'm having the same issue and it seems that the crashes are becoming more frequent. It's the worst that it happens at the end of the day, causing a huge amount of lost progress.

Having the same issue at this end. Really disappointing as everything had been great just prior. Has anyone found a workaround yet prior to a real fix? In the past with things like the Switch when it had a similar problem I remember reading players had done things like sort the contents of their trunks or refrigerators before sleeping to avoid game crashing gaps, etc.

Just thought I'd add that the error code we're getting on the PS4 is CE-34878-0. We'd seen it about 5 times in the past week before we finally threw in the towel for the time being. Just too dispiriting to accomplish so much during a day only to have it all disappear so often.
