I forgot to write down, that I am not the host, my friend is the host, and she doesn't have a controller, to plug in, and I can't join, because the invite code is missing

Ooh are you doing online multiplayer or split screen CO-OP?
I haven't played online multiplayer but I do now that the start local CO-OP option in the option menu in game is the one I use to play split screen CO-OP so I don't know if you can use that one for online multiplayer I think for that you need to do it on the CO-OP option on the title screen to play multiplayer online because when you choose or create save as a host the when you are in game on the option menu there will be now a Show invite code and a invite friend option above the start local CO-OP.
