Help - I can't move my mouse to place a building.

I've recently downloaded stardew expanded and all the other mods needed to make this operate. I've tried this twice now and I am unable to move my mouse to place a building. I really want to play Stardew Expanded, so I hope this isn't causing the issue. I am playing on Mac. This was my first game I've ever tried to mod, so I could have done something wrong. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t know if you managed to figure anything out, but I found a fix today so I thought I’d share!
If you have gamepad mode on, turning it off should fix the problem
