I am having this issue with the Fangamer cartridge. I played the game once with the cartridge and now I can't play without it. ( I have purchased download game and my daughter bought fangamer physical copy) I think since the cartridge shows as 1.4.4.1 and the download is 1.4.4 it won't play without the cartridge anymore. Maybe something similar is happening with yours? Did you play co-op with someone that has the physical copy?
