Windows Headset Audio When Disconnecting

So sometimes when I accidently disconnect my headphones from my PC, Stardew's audio completely disappears, even if I plug the headphones back in- the only fix is a game restart. For reference, my monitor and PC have no speakers and headphones are the sole sound device. It happens with multiple pairs of good headphones too, so I don't know the problem. Please fix, because it gets annoying, especially when it's halfway through a day, and then I have to be in silence until I can save.
