Android Have the requirements changed for spouse asking for a baby?

Are there any additional requirements around spouses asking for children, either intentional or unintentional? I've had nearly a dozen saves on Android over the last few years, and I've never had it take so long for my spouse to ask for a baby. 1-2 months tops, usually. Not over a year...

I married Elliott on Fall 4 Year 1, and I upgraded the house to have the crib the following week, so mid-Fall Year 1. It is now Spring 3 Year 3, and he hasn't asked. He's been at 14 hearts the entire time the crib has been available, and he has been both kissed and gifted with a loved gift daily (except for his week-long 14 heart book tour). I've only stayed overnight on Ginger Island maybe 3-4ish nights that whole time - I've been trying to make sure to sleep on the farm, and when possible going to bed instead of passing out.

Has some additional check been built in, or has the chance of the spouse of asking been moved behind some other check, making it a lot rarer than it used to be? Or locked behind some additional requirement?

I currently have v. 1.6.15 Build 24354, but I married Elliott November 18th (2 months ago), so this issue has persisted over several versions.

I am on Android 14 with a Google Pixel 6.

No, that’s just bad luck. It also happened before the last update that it took over a year for some saves.

yeah idk, it took seb awhile but for our second child he asked almost immediately. i think it's random
