Creator Response Happy animals stay happy?

Hello quite excited about getting the game once it is available again. After reading the manual a couple of times I still have a question about animals.Once you use an end of turn effect to pet an animal and make it happy, does the effect stay for the rest of the game or is it only for the round it was activated?

The animal will remain happy unless some effect causes it to be otherwise. For example, there is an event card that flips all animal tiles in play.
