I recently had an idea for a big mod for Stardew Valley. It would be called "Hero of the Valley," and be primarily combat-focused, something that very few mods seem to be, oddly enough.
It would be made up of 5 main parts:
1 - Combat Overhaul
*The mod would change many of the weapon's 'specials' to be unique, as well as add 'charges' to the weapons which happen when holding down the attack button, similar to the spin-attack in Link To The Past.
*The mod would add a new move called 'Rushing,' where the farmer does a dodge, then breaks into a run immediately after. This would use a bit of Energy, so people don't overuse it unless they don't need that energy or have a lot of food.
2 - New Tools
*Taking a page from Zelda, new tools would be introduced, such as the Hookshot (which pulls you over gaps) or the boomerang (which can hit switches or stun foes). These can be upgraded by Clint, but not as much as the starter tools.
3 - New Dungeons
*New dungeons that challenge the player. These will incorporate puzzles just like the Ginger Island Volcano, but these will use the new Tools seen above.
*There would be two or three, such as a Necromancer's Tower or an Ancient Temple. These areas would give valuable resources, but be very difficult for the unprepared.
4 - A New Storyline
*A necromancer is secretly working to take over the world, and only the adventurer's guild can stop him! As their most promising (and also only competent) member, it's your job to find him. This could be handled in many different ways, but right now, I've only got the basics.
5 - The Weapons Forge
*Robin can now build you a Forge! This place can be used to build weapons.These weapons have three parts:
*The blade, which uses the metals (Copper, Iron, Gold, Iridium, or Radioactive)
*The guard, which uses a gem (Like diamonds, Amethyst, or Topaz)
*The handle, which uses various other materials (Wood, Hardwood, Cloth, Wool, other stuff)
*The weapon you forge will have its base power increased by the blade's metal, its speed by the handle's material, and gain a special ability from the guard's gem.
Honestly, I'd be cool if just the Forge and Combat Overhaul got made. But they become worth more with the rest added.
Please note that I am NOT a coder, but if this gets enough attention and interest, I'd be cool with working with/assembling a team of coders who could make this. I'm also willing to learn... Slowly. I'm not smart lol
