Greenhouse

So I plan on filling my green house with ancient fruit when I get enough seeds and was planning on using quality fertilizer for better crops but does the quality fertilizer work for more then one harvest or does it work until I break the crop

If the Fertilizer is on the Ancient Fruit's soil at the time you harvest it, the fruit quality will benefit from the Fertilizer. Since crops never die in the Greenhouse, that Fertilizer will work permanently on your Ancient Fruit plants. However if you process Ancient Fruit into Wine or Jelly, you lose the benefit of any quality improvements from that fertilizer so you could consider using some kind of Speed-Gro if you plan to process everything. Since I process all my Ancient Fruit, I use Deluxe Speed-Gro so I get more harvests and therefore more g from the increased amount of Ancient Fruit Wine and Jelly I make.

What @One More Day said below. I mixed it up with replanting the 12-13 day crops where they shorten to 10 day grow time with Deluxe Speed-Gro to get 3 harvests in per season.

DSG will only speed up the first harvest for Ancient Fruit, or any other multi-harvest crop. It won't reduce the time to second and subsequent harvests, so probably only worth the effort to use DSG on crops you need to replant

On the other hand, Fertilizer and Quality Fertilizer will provide benefit for second and subsequent harvests of Ancient Fruit, so if you're not processing it all, these are definitely worth the effort

That is the reason why I only put medium quality ancient fruit to my keg.
For high quality ancient fruit, I sell them up directly.

And I don't feel like putting my wine or juice into my casks in cellar. It takes too long to harvest. It is not worth it.

i thought this too (or just fertilizers in general, i'm kinda new lol) until i read this. is this something specific to Ancient Fruit or perhaps the Greenhouse?

I didn't see a mention of Ancient Fruit of the Greenhouse there but you might be referring to this part:

Quality Fertilizer only affects the basic harvest, which means that extra crops gained at harvest (i.e., Coffee Bean, Blueberry, Cranberries) will be of regular quality.
That is referring to Crops which drop multiple fruits at a time when you harvest them once. Each time you harvest Coffee, Blueberry and Cranberry, you will get 2-5 total Coffee Beans, Blueberries and Cranberries but the Fertilizer applied will only affect the quality of one drop, where the additional 1-3 Fruits will always be regular quality. However the next time you harvest them (2-5 days later), the first drop will still be affected by the Fertilizer while again all the additional 1-3 Fruits will be regular quality.

Today, I learned. Thank you. 🙏🏻

ah i see, so what you're saying is that fertilizers work for Ancient Fruits because you only get one yield per harvest? is this the same for other multi-harvest crops that only yield one as well? i guess i gave away the fact that i haven't gotten an Ancient Seed yet😅

DSG will only speed up the growth stage, not the multi-harvest stage, but given that growth stage is (without other modifiers) a full month, it shaves almost an entire week off of the initial iteration. If you're starting with only one or two seeds and using a Seed Maker to propagate, using DSG during your initial growth stage can significantly speed up how fast you fill your greenhouse, shaving entire seasons off the time to completion. So yes, it has zero benefit for you after the greenhouse is fully propagated, but it can help you get to that position much more rapidly. Meanwhile, Ancient Fruits are just *made* for kegging, as the growth and processing times are synced up so well, so it makes zero sense to have a greenhouse full of ancient fruit and not turn it all into wine, at least if profits are your concern.

Postgame, the Deluxe Retaining Soil can save you some space by replacing the sprinklers with more crops, which makes it effectively the only 'fertilizer' that has a mechanical benefit after you have finished filling the greenhouse.

So I suppose the only real question is: Do you value getting your greenhouse filled faster, or do you value maximum capacity more?

I usually use Quality Fertiliser in The Greenhouse. Though i dont always fill it with Anciant Fruit, some times i only half fill it with ancient fruit and keep half for growing crops out of season for cooking with.

I disagree with the casks not being worth it. True that it takes a while to ferment the wine but, fermenting ancient fruit wine up to Iridium star quality can be very profitable.

Anciant Fruit Wine Tends to be my Farms Specialist Wine, so i take pride in ensuring my Wine is of the finest quality 👌 i add more Casks to my cellular to back log it to the point where when one finishes in the keg, the cask is ready for it. That way my celler is almost continuously producing Iridium Star Ancient Fruit Wine. I usually add an additional 30-40 Casks to my cellular to have it continuously producing Iridium Star Wine.
