Windows Glitch when using controller and mouse in inventory screens

When there's a box open, such as a crafted chest or a treasure chest from fishing, the controller seems to be setting a default reset point for the cursor, and the reset happens when I use the mouse to move items in the personal inventory areas.

I first noticed the issue while playing with SMAPI and mods BUT IT PERSISTS AFTER UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING a clean, non-modded version of the game.

I specifically tested for various triggers with a brand new game and newly crafted chest. Scenarios and outcomes below.

Scenario A:
When I use just just the keyboard and mouse to approach the chest and to move inventory back and forth, everything functions properly.
(Scenario A.a: using just the controller works as expected, too.)

Scenario B:
When I use the controller for movement, whether I use the controller's action button A on a chest or the keyboard action key (letter X) to open the chest, the cursor initiates in the upper box, top left, and that's where the mouse snaps back to after I left click on items in the bottom (personal) inventory space to move them to the top (chest) inventory space.
• Moving items from the chest to the personal inventory via the mouse works fine and seems to clear the cursor reset point.
• If all I'm doing is moving things from personal inventory (bottom) to chest (top) with mouse clicks, the cursor resets to where the controller left it every time.
• Restating the above two points (hopefully helps with clarity of issue): If I use the mouse to move items from the chest inventory to personal inventory, it works fine all the time after that. So this is only when moving items from personal inventory to chest inventory (bottom to top) without moving something from the chest to personal inventory first.

Scenario C:
As B, but after using the mouse to interact with the inventory items, use the controller to move the cursor, and the cursor reset positions changes to whichever box the controller left the cursor pointing at, either in the chest or the personal inventory slots. This is the point the cursor returns to when using the mouse to click on inventory items.
• If I use the mouse to move items from the chest to personal, then use the controller, the controller always starts the cursor from where the controller left it. (Not sure if that's glitchy, but it was an oddity I noticed.)
