Issue Getting SMAPI to read .json files after unpacking

I'm currently trying to make a content pack mod (custom NPC) on my Windows machine, and to do this I had to use StardewXnbHack to unpack all of the xnb files, but now if I try to run the game with the unpacked files it won't work. I have Content Patcher which should supposedly be able to run them, yet it doesn't seem to kick in? Is there something in Content Patcher I have to enable to get it to run with the .json files? Any help appreciated

Now it is some time I've been battling with the same problem, but I think there was something peculiar in the headers of those files. What error messages do you get (if any)? Try to compare a file unpacked by normal xnbcli and that hack and look if how they are different.

The error messages are all just the usual "file not found" when I try to run the game on the unpacked content, it works fine on the original xnb files, though. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the unpacker I used, since the json files are all correct and work, just not when trying to run the game off of them. Again apparently this is something Content Patcher is supposed to fix, so I'm thinking maybe it's an issue with that? Content Patcher is currently in my mods folder, for reference.

Unless this then is a simple typo in the path name then I don't know. Erm -- are you sure you have correct filenames (.json, not .xnb) in the content.json? Or something else bleeding obvious.
