Geodes at Clint's

Hi. Well, I mined my first 3 Geodes so I trotted along to Clint and diligently tried to place them on his anvil but no luck. I wasn't able to place them and there was no 'white hand' indicating that I could perform this action. What have I done to offend Clint...?

...Problem solved! I just discovered I had to place the geodes in the little pop-up window when it asked me to 'Process Geodes', not trot over to the actual anvil itself. This game is a continual voyage of discovery
