I got Married to Sam just over an in-game month and a half ago, 14 days ago he asked me if i wanted a baby, i said yes- everything was normal, aside from a few modded things i have installed. fast forward to now, i gave birth, everything was fine until the cut scene ended and there was no baby. no prompt to name the dang thing, it didn't show up in the NPC list, nothing. the baby doesn't exist. I thought maybe it would show up the next day and slept but it didn't, so i went into my save folder and went back to the day i gave birth, hoping that the glitch was a one time thing, but after closing and opening the world up 3 times, it hasn't shown up- not even if i skip the cut scene.
full transparency, my game had already been showing signs of glitching before this. on the day of our wedding, right after the cut scene, Sam fell asleep on the porch and would not wake up for the rest of the day- he still occasionally does that. its annoying, but nothing i couldn't ignore.
Next, like the day after our wedding, i went into town to do something and Vincent's pathing was broken. he was moving faster than usual and walls didn't stop him. he went straight up from the path through his back yard and didn't stop until he got to the playground, which he stopped at for like, 5 seconds before going back down. it was weird, but again, nothing i couldn't ignore, plus it only happened once.
and finally, my pig sometimes drops lots of truffles at a time. one day, i got like 7 in a pile, and its not uncommon for me to get at least two in a day. I only have the one pig. for obvious reasons i was pretty ok with this glitch, but i'm mentioning it anyway.
I know this might very well be one of my mods fault, but i'm not techy like that, so maybe i just installed them wrong? I know that content patcher has a new update i could install, so maybe that's it? i don't know. I know this is already long as hell, but i'm going to list the mods i think could be the problem.
1) Babies take after spouse V1 (since this mod directly effects the baby, maybe that's why it vanished?)
2) Pregnancy & Birth events 2.0.19 (Maybe the extra cut scene ****ed with the whole thing somehow?)
3) Date Night 1.3.6 Free Love Patch (I only just remembered but this one is slightly bugged too, because whenever we go on dates and hug or something in a cut scene it glitches to have me facing the wrong direction, though idk if that means anything :/)
4) Alecto (Mod that adds a witch named Alecto to the game as the wizards ex wife, idk, it just adds a whole 'nother person in, maybe its too much for my game to handle on top of everything else?)
those are my best guesses, but it honestly could be something else entirely. I have a total of 38 mods installed including the ones i mentioned by name and supporting mods that make the actual content work. if its NOT that a singular mod is breaking my game, and i just did something wrong, its either A) because i accidentally left an extra copy of smapi in my mods folder and have been too lazy to delete it, B) its because i installed my mods weird and half of them are stored inside a separate folder INSIDE my mods folder like a folder turducken, or C) some secret 3rd thing i'm to stupid to even think of.
that's all i know, if someone has any idea how i can fix this, i would really appreciate it. there is also a very slight possibility that is a vanilla game bug, i obviously looked it up before making a post and a few people did have similar problems presumably mod-free so i guess it could be that? but i'm actually kinda hoping its not so that i can just fix it myself without waiting for a game patch.
