Game Update Carry-Over

Hi all! :)
So I have a question that I could not find the answer to from the 1.5 update, for the new update can we continue playing the game that we had started before the new 1.5 update? or would we have to start everything over to get the new updates and quests? I'm just asking because I worked really hard to build and arrange my farm and the though of having to start over from scratch makes me sad :( Please let me know if you guys have any information regarding this :) Thank you and happy farming!

You don't have to start a new save, but there are some features added to the character creation screen. I've been playing my main save since 1.3.

Oh wow that's amazing! So everything has worked fine for you then with all of the new updates? You've gotten all of the perks too? Your farm must look amazing since you're one of the more seasoned farmers! :)

Like ISSsloth, though I've only been playing it since 1.4, my 4 Corners farm which is super far along is lacking for nothing of the new content, really.

No it really doesn't look amazing. I'm hoping to fully clear at lest on segment of my farm before next spring though. Also, in 1.4 there was a feature where it would show the gifts you've given to villagers and how they reacted, and it was completely blank when I updated. (That's the only annoying bit about having an older save.)
