Windows Game keeps freezing or becomes inoperative

I've played Stardew Valley for literally thousands of hours on several different Windows computers and I've never had problems with it until now, the last few weeks. The game will randomly stop responding if I leave it for a while (paused) and then come back to it. (That was never a problem before, for all the years I've played it.) The screen will flicker and not respond to the mouse and I have to close it. I am still able to move out of the game with the keyboard, and the mouse continues to work outside the game, but if I try to return to the game either the screen flickers or is black or frozen, and the mouse doesn't respond. Today, a couple of times it has just frozen up or started flickering while I was actively playing and I had to close it and restart. At first I blamed the problem on my computer, but I don't have problems with anything else on this computer other than slowdowns on Youtube, so I can't really tell. In the past couple of weeks I have deleted the game twice and reinstalled it from scratch, including deleting all the startup information and anything else that was saved. The only thing I kept was the actual save files. Currently I am playing a new save file that was created since I reinstalled the game. If the problem actually is with my computer I need to know that so I can try to get it fixed.

Version: 1.6.15 build 24354
No error logs/text
Windows 11 Pro version 23H2 on a Dell PC desktop
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.19 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

It's not a powerful computer but it had no trouble running Stardew until recently. Uses built-in video processor. I use wired keyboard and mouse and just a basic flat screen monitor. No mods. Current save file is attached.
