iOS GAME CRASHING ON LOADING

Hello, my game is through Apple Arcade so I don’t know if that changes how to fix this. My app was completely fine yesterday and I played it and closed it normally. However today when I opened it (or tried to) it crashed. I can get as far as the intro screen but once it attempts to load my saved game it crashes. I thought it was a one or two time thing so I tried it again after closing out the app. That didn’t work so I shut my phone off and turned it back on. That didn’t work either so I offloaded the app and reinstalled it. That ALSO didn’t work. I do not want to delete the app entirely because I don’t want to lose any of my progress/saved data.
I am completely up to date on software. I would love some help as I don’t know what the issue and or what I should do to fix it. Thanks!

Do you have Game Center enabled? That's where Arcade games save data is saved, so you can delete and reinstall the game and your data is safe in Game Center if you're sure it's enabled first. In fact, you can even cancel Arcade, resubscribe later and your game data will still be available (assuming the game is still available).

Also check to make sure you've got enough on-device storage for this game.

i do have Game Center but I’m just weary of deleting apps because although I have it on and saving there, I’ve had issues in the past where I’ve deleted Apple Arcade games that are linked to my Game Center that I later reinstalled but was unable to access my abed games because it deletes the data there as well

I also have 20 free GBs right now so I know it’s not my storage either

Sorry to hear you had Game Center data deleted, yikes. I haven't had that happen but yeah I can understand why you might be hesitant to delete and reinstall. I don't have other suggestions for you other than contacting Apple Arcade support.

I have the same issue, and tried the same things. I can create a new game, and have played on that with no problem, but my first farm, and all my progress, refuses to open.

@Noahprobz, hi again. I gave you some wrong info about the Arcade version. It doesn't use Game Center. Your save file is in a Stardew Valley folder in the Files app > On My [device] > Stardew Valley. It gets synced automatically to iCloud.

I have a one month trial to the Arcade version so tested what happens if you delete the app. I created a new farm and saved one night. The save folder shows up in the Files app. I then deleted the app and reinstalled it. My save file was automatically there from iCloud.

You could also copy the save folder to iCloud as a temporary measure to allow you to delete and reinstall the app. I know you feel wary of deleting Arcade apps, but it may be the best way to move forward to see if it resolves the issue for you.
