Fruit tree sapling turned into green rain tree

I got a peach tree sapling from the ticket machine in Mayor Lewis’ house. I planted it on my farm immediately (early spring year 1). I woke up today on year 1 summer 4, and noticed a green rain tree sapling in its place (I have not had green rain yet). I need moss so tried to hit it with my hoe to possibly get moss but not chop the tree, and chopped down and returned my peach sapling. I reset the day cause the green rain tree seemed much more useful, and got it back. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with fruit saplings turning into a green rain tree…..when you haven’t had green rain yet lol

This is most likely a bug, I'd report it on the bug report page here on the forums. It doesn't really seem intentional that fruit trees that could be mistaken as regular ones during a green rain would transform, they're generally different in function and mechanics than regular trees for the most part
