During the night of the last day of winter, year 2, my wife Maru gave birth. So, after the day end earnings screen, it prompted me to choose my child's name. I manually entered a name, and hit okay. Then, the screen opened to me in bed in the morning on the 1st of spring in the 3rd year, but there was no UI, and the game wouldn't respond to any keyboard inputs.
I force-closed the game, and when I reopened it and reloaded the game, it went straight into the cutscene with Grandpa's spirit and the game continued as normal - my daughter was in her cot, correctly named.
I assume that something screwy happened when the dialogue box interrupted the cutscene.
I have not attempted to reproduce the bug since I don't have a pre- third year save file, but I assume that this would also occur if you hatched an egg or livestock gave birth.
