Found contamrnt pod what is it

New to the game and in my second fall I hade a crash landing found a contamrnt pod what is it for?

If you leave it out on your farm you'll eventually notice that something's broken out of it and following that you may notice, if you're sharp-eyed, a... thing? hiding on the dark corner of your screen at some point. I think I maybe noticed it at the edge of one of my maps at night in the dark after I got the Strange Capsule, but it's one of those things where you go: Did I? It's supposed to happen like that... I might have caught a glimpse... Was I using averted imagination?

Nahhh, it was probably just some celery.
