Forgot to introduce myself but hey there!

Mango Choo-choo

Hello my friends, this is Mango Choo-choo from Shanghai, China.
I am an IT guy but not a programmer.
When I was a teenager, I was captivated deeply by Final Fantasy X and Golden Sun.
I chose Computer Science and Technology as my major in college to fulfill my dream to be a game designer.
But finally I didn't become a game designer.
I did a job I didn't like to do actually to go through my tedious life.

I started to play my first online game League of Legends since 2012.
I was quite nervous and trembling the first time I played rank mode.
I can recollect vividly the champion I used was Catherine.
This game encouraged me a lot when I was down.

After reading the story of the developer of Stardew Valley, I was encouraged again.
I played the game day and night on Nintendo Switch.
I could hardly believe it that this game was made by only one person.
So far, my favorite villager is Caroline. :caroline:

In 2017, I totally obsessed with a game on Nintendo Switch - The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of wild.
I don't think a good game makes you addicted and evading from real life.
On the contrary, a good game will encourage you to defeat your inner fear in your heart and go to back to real life to take any challenges bravely and confidently.
I decided to take back my dream and re-learn how to make a indie game!

I have a full-time job so I am going to take some spare time to learn how to use game engine like Godot or Unity.
Fortunately, I learned C++ and Java when I was in college.
Being busy is not going to be an excuse to slack off although the only enemy for me is time.
I am not young anymore. I will try my best to seize each moment to fulfill my dream in my childhood.
I anticpate my game can encourage young people being brave and tenacious.

Finally, being your friend will be my biggest luck in the forums.
Please share anything fun with me.

°-°...d*mn, nice introduction man (I'm kinda jealous with all the well structured and explained responses I read here 😅 ). Welcome to the forum, it's good to see you are hmm actively collaborating here, I mean it. Yeah, I consider STDV as a 'healthy' game, and I can say that all the members of this forum are glad to found a true gem like this. I would like to offer my help in making a game as a programmer, but honestly I'm getting tired of making systems and making code ^-^, so I can only wish you good luck. I don't know what else to say (write, exactly) I'm a few-words man, so again, welcome to the forum, I'll be watching all of you and I'll appear in the right moment, maybe. ✌

Welcome Mango Choo-choo but of course you're already quite active here! Your story shares a number of similarities to mine though I'll just single out:

Caroline is the queen, though I'm quite happy with the princess :emily:.

Thank you for the response.
As a tech guy, I am trying my best be logical and well structured to explain one thing to other people.
But I realized I used the word 'encourage' too many times in the thread above.
That signifies how my English sucks.
If I am in an IELTS test, my score has already been deducted to zero by examiner as too many repetitions and vocab not advanced enough
Okay, that was a joke.

I am so happy I still have enthusiasm about coding.
Perhaps I will be bored of writing code in near future.
But making a game is just for fun rather than making money.
I don't expect I can subsist on making video games.

I never expected I can make a game such a huge scale like Stardew Valley or other triple-A games.
I am going to make a dreaming JRPG with 2D style with fascinating story.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you frequently..

Thank you for the strong support Lew Zealand.
I was pondering what is the connection between you and New Zealand

To some extent, Caroline is a perfect example of a mother in my heart in this game.
Well... so to speak, she is a the most flawless mother on the earth in a nutshell.

I played this game three times.
My first princess was Emily as well :emily:

Afterwards, I picked Penny. :penny:

I think Penny has some similarities with Caroline. I am firmly believe she can be another perfect mother on the earth.
