iOS Fishing reeling sound doesn't get terminated

Hello!

Type of phone: iPad 9th gen, iPadOS 16.2
Details of your issue:
When fishing, the reeling sound (the clicky sound, not the line straining sound) sometimes doesn't get terminated when fishing ends.

As a result, the sound then keeps playing even after fishing has ended (doesn't matter if the fish was caught or not). It plays on top of other sounds, it doesn't replace them. The sound continues to play through the rest of the day, through the Items Sold screen, and into the next day as well.

Going to the main menu and reloading the save doesn't help. The sound keeps playing even in the main menu. The only way to stop the sound is to force close the app and reopen it.

I don't know what triggers the bug. It seems to happen randomly. Sometimes it happens twice a game day, sometimes I go a game week without getting it. It started appearing with 1.5.

On the day of your issue, did you load your game through the Load Game menu (you wake up in the bed)? Or was it an "emergency load" (i.e. one where you start mid-day wherever you left off)? Loaded through load menu

Thanks for your work on mobile 1.5! :)

I also have this issue with my iPhone and iPad (I switch between the two to play) and it happens to me frequently. Whenever I load my game after closing the game due to that sound, I sometimes would wake up by the bed or the last place I was (emergency load.)

Is the issue still persistent at your end? The sound is super grating haha. Would love to know how this can be fixed

I am also having the same issue. The only solution is to close the app. Seems to be more likely to occur the longer you spend reeling/fighting against each fish. I am on an IPad Mini 6 updated to the current IOS version at time of writing this comment.16.3.1

I am still having this issue as well. I thought it was associated with zooming in while fishing but I stopped doing that and it still happens.

I also have this problem (iPad Pro 12.9“ 5thGen - iPadOS 16.2 (20C65)

EDIT: Also happens on iPadOS 16.3.1 (20D67) after I updated

I ended up on this forum looking for a fix to this. I am currently having this issue on my IPad! Any updates?

Me too! On an iPad Pro.

I have so far not force quit the game except from the title screen. Always started play from waking up in the morning.

I've had this happen in the past. I started a new iPad save yesterday, have fished a bunch and no persistent sound yet. I'll keep track of when it starts, fishing location and other details.

It's a couple of days later and I'm on Fall 4 Year 1 and have just been fishing at night at the ocean, first time using Trout Soup. The persistent fish reel sound happened for the first time (in this save). What I've casually observed in other iPad saves is that it happens at the ocean. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I wonder if other players would note where you're fishing/season/time of day when it starts in hope maybe it can be narrowed down.

ETA: after a restart, I fished at the mountain lake, forest lake, forest river, and town river, saving the ocean for last. None of those locations produced the persistent sound until I fished at the ocean.

To update about the persistent fishing sound on my current save, it only happened once after fishing at the ocean (mentioned above). It hasn't happened since then even fishing at the ocean. We don't know what's causing the bug, but I recommend players keep track of the details: location, time of day, season, type of fishing rod etc.

Version 1.6.14. Same thing happens to me 🥲 Not only that, it also has the same type of sound bug except it's like this hitting a skeleton sound when I go mining. It's so obnoxiously loud and annoying, and the only way to remove it is by force closing the app :(

I'm on iPad Pro running iPadOS 17.6.1 with audio on wired headphones and I have NOT had this happen yet since updating to 1.6! Twice I did have a similar but not identical issue where accidentally cancelling the fishing cast right as it was starting caused the audio to persist, but in both cases the sound stopped when I moved to a different location (beach to town or town to bus stop). I've been fishing a lot, including some difficult ones where the fish struggled for a long time before escaping which previously had an extremely high rate of adding insult to injury by keeping the reeling noise on, and nothing has triggered this bug for me in 1.6! I was actually coming over here to rejoice in it being fixed because it's such a huge relief, and perhaps it is fixed for some of us? I'm sorry it's not everyone!
