Solved Fishing minigame bug

I'm encountering issues with specifically fishing. Check/Do Action: Right Click, X is NOT working with fishing. It works with any other tool, opening chest, gates etc. Just NOT with fishing.
Use Tool: Left Click, C works with any fishing rod to cast it and to recast it (aka start fishing again). So i can cast the rod, it will give the ! and the fishing bite sound but i cant interact with it, start the minigame.

Troubleshooting steps I have tried:
1: Configure other keybindings > same result, works with every tool BUT not with fishing
2: Try to use Ctrl-left click to emulate a right click > does not work
3: Changed monitor settings with windowed or full screen and changed UI scale > no difference
4: Use other fishing bit sound > no difference
5: Gamepad Mode: tried Force Off and Auto-detect > no difference
6: Tried all of the above in 2 different safe files, 1 solo file and 1 co-op file > results are the same

Any ideas to get this working as intended??

Hardware:
iMac 5K, 27" 2020, 3,3Ghz 6-Core Intel Core i5
Original Apple Keyboard, Logitech mouse

Software:
macOS: Sequoia 15.5 (most recent build)
Stardew Valley build: v1.6.15 build 24356 in-game language is English

Both casting and reeling in the fish should use the C key/left mouse button on the standard setting.
