without spoilers, I would say look for everything that looks strange. If the floor looks different on one tile, dig there. Sometimes you can walk through the trees at the sides of the screen to get to a walnut. Some are just growing on small trees. Some are hidden behind a riddle.
The parrot in the hut will give you a different hint every day.
