Fastest you've reached level 9 farming?

I've never tried to max a single skill level like that - I normally try to level them all together. Right now I'm at farming 9 in winter of year 1. But seeing how fast I can level a single skill could be a fun challenge for a different save - I'll keep that in mind!

Get to Farming 6 by the end of Spring, spam quality sprinklers and Starfruit with Deluxe Speed Gro

On a separate file (Beach Farm), I unlocked Ginger Island via Joja early first summer with 0 farming and then started buying iridium sprinklers from Krobus plus got some from Treasure chests and got level 9 farming sometime in the late summer with Starfruit

Farming 9 is rather specific, I did do a save where I tried to get farming 10 fastest and got it sometime in the second week of spring, though that could be cut down if you were to really go at it

Farming 6 by the end of spring is something I can pretty easily manage, so the first big blueberry/starfruit harvest usually gets me 9 or very close to it by late summer.

the elite players can get Farming 9 in spring, but i just don't have the stubbornness to handwater that much Kale. It's a game, games are supposed to be fun, and I have more fun running around mining, chopping trees, and sating Maru's infinite demand for strawberries.

Like after the first harvest of strawberries, I was min-maxing and had like 700 strawberry seeds planted after the festival, so Spring 20-21

It usually takes me a while and happens subtly. One day I'll be looking at my stats and will go- "Hey, I'm maxed on all skills-"

If I were trying to up my skill, I'd just put all my stops into farming. Make the biggest, most stupid field of crops possible. I'd get rich in sprinkler materials and plant like a billion crops, then harvest them on a good luck day. I'd probably throw in one of those farmer lunch things, too.
