I think they want to keep the details of joja deep, (like the removed scene in the intro with Dobson and the bus), just to keep the game more friendly as possible and transmit chill and calm. Cause joja is all about capitalism and people who don't matter with others.

I still say you can switch up the genre slightly by adding a sinister edge to their story. Basically a toned down Umbrella Corporation. Although, I dont know how toned down it can be. Umbrella was morally bankrupt and ethically deplorable.
