Switch Event bug

I am on year 4 day 25 of winter, Feast of the Winter Star event. When I gift Maru anything (played the day 4 times already) my game closes and says "an error as occured". There is no error number or specification. I played this day several times and it keeps crashing.
I'm afraid to reboot the game or delete it and reinstall it. I've put over 100 hours in this save (it's my first save) and I love this game a lot and don't want to lose my progress.
Has anyone had this bug/issue before?
