Easiest Early game way to farm iridium?

How can you easily get iridium? I of course, have the skull cavern unlocked, but i only have one crystalarium from the Communtiy center. I'm wondering how can i easily get alot of it without the jade crystalarium spam and mass farming explosive ammo (Though i am fine with that strategy/using bombs.) Thanks in advance!

Only best way to Farm Iridium early is Skull Cavern, Looks to me like you know the drill, jades for stairs make more crystalariums make more Jade...Best way to farm Iridium in general is with statues of endless fortune. At 1 million G (From the Guy in the Casino) Some people think they are a bad Investment but they are not as It is the only way to farm Iridium and gold easily sure it takes 17.5 years to earn your million back from it. But when you make 2.5 Million a day who is counting 17.5 years. I got about 1600 of them my desert is full of them and like 6 sheds It takes a good chunk of the day to empty them all but with 1600 I get about 400 of each Item (Iridium bar,Gold Bar, Diamond, And omni Geodes) Everyday except birthdays. Idk any new ways to get it
especially early is kind of a grind I don't have any 1.6 update yet. Napalm Ring is good Early on for getting down some extra floors won't take as many bombs, eliminating all the monsters on any givin floor will make the chance of finding a ladder go up. Having a burglar ring is great My first trips to skull cavern while I build up my Jade are usually just to kill monsters they drop great stuff that can be super useful for more Iridium specific runs.. I made it to 100th floor w/out staircases once with just them rings and whatever bombs I could get from monster drops. I Think that's all I got best of luck with it:)

It all depends on how much iridium you want.

1. You can get enough for a couple of bars before you get to the Skull Caverns, mostly from magma geodes and fishing treasure chests.

2. If you take a chill (happy with whatever and wherever you get) approach to the Skull Cavern and always go with about 30 Salads or Cheese, 50+ Coal (kilns are helpful for this), a few emergency staircases, and whatever Spicy Eel and Triple Shot Espresso you can muster (5 would be nice), you can both

a) have a lot more fun there than you would at the bottom of The Mines and

b) gradually build up your stream of goodies including jade and iridium ore.

While you won't see much Iridium Ore until you are around 50 deep, you will build up jade, gold, rubies, (Spicy Eel), Diamonds (Espresso), and other fun goodies when on short visits.

I've had plenty of fun starting my Skull Cavern snowball even with the Obsidian Edge or Insect Head (evasion and avoidance are viable combat strategies) as soon as I repair the bus, maybe even before I can craft Mega Bombs or get the fanciest sword. The key to this is food and bombs (coal in hand plus mined iron ore).

Once you have enough bombs and staircases to get over 100 deep and you

a) develop a good intuition for which time-waster floors to skip,

b) take luck and time management more seriously

you can get enough iridium ore to sell for reasonably serious income around your first Winter if that's what you want to do.

The Skull Cavern is fun! So many great prizes!

In 1.6 Iridium Nodes appear very rarely, on first floors of Skull Cavern. They also appear rarely in the Volcano Dungeon, too.

I myself laid down iridium, until i unlocked the statue from Grandpa's Shrine. Then, one step at a time i upgraded everything. At this point, i also unlocked trinkers, found few good ones and then, started going dungeons seriously. With the surplus iridium gained post that point, i also crafted my machinery (crystallariums, etc).

If you have the g then buying Bombs and going on high Luck days with whatever Luck Buffs you can add (Lucky Lunch, Spicy Eel) are the "easiest" way to get down enough levels in Skull Cavern. However I don't find this to be easy or particularly satisfying until I can get enough Crystalariums for that Jade duplication. OK okok the Bombs make it pretty satisfying at times… But I never have nearly enough Iridium Ore for much of anything until I get the Statue from Grandpa's Evaluation. What a gatekeeper Grandpa is and he's worse in v1.6.

I get most of my irridium through combat.

Turn monsters on for your farm if you haven't and max out combat as quickly as you can. The purple slimes and irridiums bats that spawn on your farm will drop anywhere from two to eight pieces of irridium ore, depending on if you've read the monster book and/or have the burglar ring.

I also always stop to fight in skull caverns (I'm easily distracyed by combat) and get a decent amount of irridium ore (and other helpful goodies like food and bombs, plus the occasional irridium bar) from monster drops. I never do the jade-staircase trick or bring cheese/salad and never have much trouble. You can start finding irridium nodes just 50 floors or so in on a good luck day. This can give you a fair influx of irridium until you earn the statue of perfection.

You can also get irridium through panning, so you might want to consider upgrading your copper pan.
