Duck Feather Glitch?

So to preface I've been working on just building my farm up and my ducks are only 1-1/2 love me...... however I'm on year three and haven't even seen a duck feather for sale? Thoughts? I know I need to love on all my animals more but I'm starting to worry. I only need a duck feather and three fish to complete the community building so I'm starting to stress

Check the merchant in Cindersap Forest (south of your farm) at weekends nights. His rotating stock brings in many rarities and oddities. I got my duck feather there, in my 1.6 save. His store is active in the 3 days festival at the beach, with singing mermaid and free coffee.

It’s a higher chance depending on friendship level signified by the hearts, you’ll want them as close as you can or at 5 hearts for the best chance though they start to produce them more commonly at about 2-3 I find.

Make sure they have access to eatable grass - the tall bushy stuff - in spring-summer-fall, and a heater in winter, and pet them daily (or at least most days), and you should start getting an occasional feather in no time. Also make sure there's empty places on the floor for a feather to drop.

The duck feather is typically one of my last items too, but you'll get it eventually.

Yeah I got it on my xbox farmer in like year one but I petted them EVERYDAY religiously - I just need to pay more attention to my pets lol. and go fishing.... my least favorite
