This is something I've really wanted for a while now. The game already has Bridges and docks, so what if we could build our own?
I'm thinking that they should be extremely expensive, naturally. You are literally creating new tiles where you can place things in the game, which is a pretty big deal. The places you could put them should also be fairly restrictive.
The most basic would be a dock. This would be made with something like five Hardwood and five ordinary wood per tile. These could be used to make or expand Bridges on maps like the Riverland Farm, but you could not Place buildings on top of them. With them, you should be able to extend as much as Maybe three tiles from solid land, which means if you are making a bridge it could be a maximum of six tiles long.
The next variant would be a pier. These are stronger, and as such can extend further, maybe five tiles from solid land, giving you a maximum Bridge length of 10 tiles. Again, you can place chests on these, but not buildings.
The final variant is the iridium pile. These require an iridium bar for every single tile, as well as 25 Stone. Due to the high cost, they can extend a maximum of 10 tiles from solid land, and buildings can be placed on top of them.
This would give players unprecedented control over the appearance and function of their Farms! It would be a big change, but due to the high price I don't think it would be exploited too much.
But who knows? I could be wrong, let me know!
